Craig Conover is coming to the Oklahoma City Home + Garden Show

Jan 5, 2025, 15:42 PM

Fan favorite on Bravo’s hit reality series, Southern Charm, Craig Conover is coming to the Oklahoma City Home + Garden Show January 17-19.

Besides charming audiences with his smile and demeanor, Craig has also turned his enthusiasm for décor and sewing into a full-time career with his co-founding of Sewing Down South, a growing southern-based ‘Sewing Lifestyle Brand’. Originally rooted in downtown Charleston, Sewing Down South transcended regional boundaries, as evidenced by its national presence through a collaborative home collection with Kroger Family Stores.

This year’s attendees will get the chance to see Craig on the Fresh Ideas Stage on Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. sharing some fun behind the scenes stories from his TV life, along with his journey into entrepreneurship.

Before Craig is set to hit the stage, we were able to chat with him and get a few of his favorite home-related-tips for our attendees.

What home gadget or tool should every homeowner own?

A cordless drill and a basic household toolkit. Those two things will help you tackle basic repairs or DIY projects around the house.

What is an outdated home trend you hope doesn’t come back?

Popcorn ceilings.

What’s the best home purchase for under $100?

I’m a big believer in home organization tools like storage bins and baskets. It’ll make finding things easier and helps tidy up your home or garage. Inside the home, accent pieces like throw pillows and blankets, wall art and mirrors, plants (real or fake) are great, affordable purchases.

What is one project you tell people to NOT do as DIY?

I wouldn’t DIY any sort of plumbing. I definitely leave that to the professionals. I also don’t like to mess with electricity, it freaks me out. I got electrocuted once when I was younger.

What’s one outdoor tip for big impact in landscaping or curb appeal?

I believe in keeping it simple with landscaping or curb appeal. So I try to not overdue it and keep space in between the plans, give them room to spread out and draw your eye when someone drives by or walks up to your home.
